The whole experience of pre-admission information, tests and provision of aids; the operation itself; the in-hospital care and subsequent after care was, in my view, faultless. I cannot think af any way in which it could be improved.

No question of the hospital lacking staff to provide all the attention needed, at every level. The overwhelmingly positive attitude and encouragement was very important to the way in which i reacted to my operation and definitely set me on the way to recovery. Each of the people who contacted me before my admission were at pains to explain their role, what they wished to do for me and we happy to answer all my questions: then or later. The type of "wrap around" high quality care does not just happen. and the whole team should take credit, and my thanks. On a disappointing note the rooms have not been updated for a long time and it shows and i anticipate that they could be made much easier to be cleaned and the in-room medical services improved. That said, the staff overcame any such obstacles so that my care did not suffer at all. I stayed for two and a half days and during that time only the bins were emptied once.

From the outset the staff at Sarum Road have been professional, friendly, helpful and supportive at every stage of the process. The care is second to none, the facilities are first rate, the catering is first class and the staff amazing. Thank you so much for helping me through my procedure(s), for being so welcoming and helping me come through with flying colours.

During these uncertain times during COVID-19 lockdown period great care was taken to ensure that visitors, staff, and patients were all protected. I found all the staff throughout the whole team i.e surgical, nursing care, catering, always to be helpful, friendly and caring and felt that I was treated very well during my stay and at subsequent visits.

During this difficult time with a global pandemic I was really pleased with the level of care I received by staff at this hospital before, during and after my operation when I received a follow up call , post op to see if I was ok. That was nice. My only comment is regarding a little bit of miscommunication about some admin. I was given the wrong information pre op about a health assessment form I had to fill out. This form is 6 pages long and its really in depth, a letter instructs you to take it with you on the day of the operation so you have time to fill it out but I was told over the phone when inquiring about my pre assessment to fill it out and make sure it was posted back to the hospital in time for the ' preassess nurse 1' to read it. I didn't need to go to the trouble or struggle to post it as my form was never discussed again, on the day of the surgery a completely new form was filled out again so I have no idea where my original went or why there was that urgency. Its not important but it just added to my pre op stress to put it politely especially with the pressures of a Covid-19 lockdown. I also want to feed back on the catering because you are so hungry as you have been Nil by Mouth, if anyone is interested. I was a day patient so I was offered lunch post op. I ordered a baked potato without a topping , fruit salad and green tea. The potato wasn't great, I am no chef but a basic like that should have been much better for a private hospital. The fruit salad was fresh but I have no idea why they added tinned orange segments to it instead of using fresh oranges ? The Green tea also didn't taste of anything so I am not sure what brand it is. - sorry to have negative feedback about this area. I hope this helps and it's relevant.
